With 25 years of personal experience in the industry, Jim Hilston has established himself as a prominent figure in the field of timber floor projects. His journey began in the UK, where he worked with the renowned interiors company Fired Earth PLC where he gained valuable insights into the world of interior design and craftsmanship.

Jim’s commitment to continuous improvement led him to seek out training opportunities and collaborate with some of the most knowledgeable individuals in the industry. By applying the techniques he learned from these experts, he further elevated his expertise and refined his craft.

Jim has been involved at the highest levels of the Australasian Timber Flooring Association (ATFA), where his contributions have been invaluable. Notably, he chaired the QLD Standing Committee and the National Training Committees, and is accredited as a Senior Floor Inspector. In addition to his involvement with the ATFA, Jim is a member if the Institute of Building Consultants with the Master Builders Association and Treasurer of the esteemed Building Dispute Practitioners Society (BDPS).
