Jim Hilston began his career as the Product Manager for timber floors for a thriving interiors brand in the UK (Fired Earth Ltd) with responsibility for the entire service, from chain of supply to installation and finishing, for a range of very exclusive products. This early introduction to high end interior products awoke in Jim a passion for providing the most select products and services, and opened his eyes to floor design and coating options that extended beyond the mundane and into the realms of the imagination.

From this grounding Hilston Wood Floors was launched in Australia in 2004 and Jim embarked on an exciting journey, progressing from tradesman to business owner and respected flooring expert, and throughout this time has continued to provide a range of services and products that delight.

Jim holds unique credentials and qualifications for reporting and expert witness services. From site analysis to courtroom appearances, we are able to provide thorough and accurate information relating to performance and appearance concerns that may not meet expectations. As a Senior Inspector with the ATFA, and an active member of the esteemed Building Dispute Practitioners Society, Hilston Wood Floors has authored over 1000 reports, ranging from repair assessments to the most rigorous documents, required for supporting court and tribunal actions.
